You've Been Around This Mountain Long Enough!
Deuteronomy 2:3: You have been around this mountain long enough. Now turn and go northward.
I don't know about you, but sometimes I just get tired of the "same-old-same-old." Sometimes I just get tired of the routine. Really, rather than routine, it is a funk. It seems like I am stuck. I keep doing the same thing, or making the same mistake over and over again, thinking I will get a different result (I heard that this is the definition of insanity, but I digress!)
Does this describe you as well?
Well, this Scripture came to me this morning as I was speaking to a girlfriend. It is when God was telling the children of Israel that they had been wandering around in the area of Mount Seir, and finally, the Lord said, that's enough, now move on.
Is this what the Lord is saying to you? Have you just been in one situation after another, seeming to continually wander in whatever wilderness you are in, without making any progress? Remember, the trip the children of Israel were supposed to take, was only supposed to be 11 days, and yet, it ended up taking 40 years. Well, I am a little bit over 40, and I don't think I've been making the same mistakes for that long, but still, I have had my share, and today forward, I am going to try something new. I am going to step out of my proverbial boat, trust God and have faith in Him that He will keep me walking, such that I won't sink. Even if I begin to sink, thank God that all I have to do is call out to Him, and He will reach down and pick me up again.
That is my message to you today. You have been around this mountain long enough. Now turn, and go northward.
