Change. It's the one thing in life we are guaranteed. Even if you sit still and do nothing all of the days of your life - something will still change. Change is not dependent on you. Change is inevitable! The weather will change. Seasons will change. Prices will change. People will Change. Relationships will change. There is a song by Nina Simone. (George Benson and Oleta Adams have beautiful versions.)
Everything must Change
"Everything must change; nothing stays the same; everyone will change, no one, no one stays the same; the young become the old, and mysteries do unfold; for that's the way of time; no one, and nothing goes unchanged. There are not many things in life, one can be sure of; except rain comes from the clouds, sun lights up the sky, hummingbirds fly; winter turns to spring; a wounded heart will heal; oh but never much too soon; no one, and nothing goes unchanged"
Change. You hear people say all of the time "Be the change you want to see in the world". That's a great saying, but what are you doing to move forward and be a change agent to See the change. Things happen, People happen, Events happen - for a Reason, Season or Lifetime. How do you perceive this? What are you doing about it? Is change truly guaranteed? The Word of God says in Malachi 3:6 "For I am the Lord, I change not"; Hebrews 13;8 "Jesus Christ is the same Yesterday, Today, and Forever". It is encouraging to KNOW that there is ONE constant. Trust in Him and you will realize that regardless of what change occurs in your life, HE remains the same. His WORD is True and it will last. He defines your future and your past. He makes ways out of no-ways. He opens doors that you thought were permanently shut. He pours showers of blessings in the desert places of your life. He turns your No's to YES. He makes your wrongs, right. He speaks to your heart and goes before you to speak to the heart of the person you need to talk with. All He asks is for us to have Faith. Just faith- the size of a mustard seed! He says He will move mountains - you won't have to climb it, go around it - HE will MOVE it!
Make sure your walk with the Lord is one of confidence in knowing "I'm good because He's in control". Don't let people or situations intimidate you. Don't let fear paralyze you. Don't give power to anything contrary to His Will for your life. Don't be bullied or discouraged. You only need one Breakthrough and it's already on the way. Your trials come to make you strong. You've got to go through something to get to something. So, why not Praise Him in the process?! GO BOLDLY before the throne make your petitions and praise known unto Him. There is VICTORY "IN" your PRAISE!! Your testimony will be great. Your influence on others will be remarkable. Your mentoring and ability to empathize and relate to others will be greater - all because you have experience with hurt, disappointment, trials and tribulations. Those who have not been through anything, have nothing to offer (other than maybe something they read in a book). But, My God will Never put more on you than you can bear- Kirk Franklin says I've come through the fire and I've been through the flood, I've been broken in many pieces, I've seen lighting flashing from above, but through it all, I remember, that He loves me and He cares and He'll NEVER put more on me, than I can bear." (1 Corinthians 10:13 - He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear).
The Hymn says: HOLD to God's Unchanging Hand
"Time is filled with swift transition; Naught of earth unmoved can stand; Build your hopes on things eternal; Hold to God’s unchanging hand. Trust in Him who will not leave you; Whatsoever years may bring; If by earthly friends forsaken; Still more closely to Him cling. Covet not this world’s vain riches; That so rapidly decay, Seek to gain the heavenly treasures, They will never pass way. When your journey is completed, If to God you have been true, Fair and bright the home in glory; Your enraptured soul will view."
PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW! Although, everything must change, we know God remains the same. Hallelujah!
