Give. What do you think about when you hear that word?  GIVE. A simple 4 letters, with significant impact.  A beautiful concept. A beautiful feeling. A beautiful deed. Give..... A closed hand can't give or receive. A closed mind is not open to new knowledge, ideas, concepts, other points of view/perspectives. A closed heart is not open to love, forgiveness, reconciliation. Are you open to give? Are you afraid to give? No doubt, giving goes hand in hand with sacrifice and possibly vulnerability! However, the REWARDS are far greater than the risk.

Luke 6:38 says, "Give, and and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."  We can give Time, Talents,  and Treasure. We can take the Time to do something kind for our friends, family, neighbors, and even strangers. We can share our gifts and Talents - We all have a God-given skillset- make a mask, quilt something or make a blanket, bake a cake/pie, use your abilities (whatever they may be), offer good advice, point someone in the right direction for assistance they may need. Go deep in your pocket and share your Treasure with cheer and glee! Pour/share knowledge and good advice - it's priceless! 2 Corinthians 9:7 says, AMP version - "Let each one give (thoughtfully and with purpose) just as he has decided in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver (and delights in the one whose heart is in his gift)." CEV version says, "Each of you must make up your own mind about how much to give. But don't feel sorry that you must give and don't feel that you are forced to give. God loves people who love to give."

I know plenty of folks who love to receive, but it seems they don't know the definition of give. I believe somewhere along the way, they used to give, but stopped. Don't let the enemy steal The Joy of GIVING from you. You may have gave your Time and it wasn't appreciated and you felt used or taken for granted. You may have given your Talents and they were misused, underappreciated, ignored. You may have given your Treasure (which includes your heart) and you felt broken, abused, your kindness was mistaken for weakness, or money was misappropriated. Perhaps you felt like people got what they wanted from you and then when they had no more use for you, they threw you away.  Let's just say - all of this is true. All of this horrible stuff really happened! But guess what? There is good news! God grants you BRAND NEW MERCIES every single morning. Lamentations 3: 22-23 says, "The steadfast love of the Lord NEVER CEASES; His MERCIES NEVER come to an end; they are NEW EVERY MORNING; Great is Thy FAITHFULNESS."

Sometimes, you just have to bite the bullet and put yourself out there. God will honor your faithfulness with His faithfulness. GIVE, because you want to.... not because you have to! If you do it, I promise you, It will bring you so much joy to share what you have. Don't worry about the sacrifice or occasional hurt/disappointment. Into each life some rain must fall! People will be people - you can't change that. BUT God is Never Changing and FOREVER Loving. He will turn your sorrow into gladness; your weakness into strength; your hurt into happiness; your disappointment into delightfulness! He will send the right person to heal your heart and make you feel loved again, appreciated again, valued again. In the meantime, love yourself. Be grateful for the people who are already in your life. Encourage people along your journey. OPEN your Hand, OPEN your Heart, OPEN your mind, OPEN your wallet, OPEN your mouth and be kind/thoughtful.

Get out of your own way. Get out of your "feelings" of feeling "some kind of way" because of what someone may have said or done. They probably forgot about it or don't even care and yet you are carrying the burden and have shut down. ARISE my friends... and just Give. Give yourself credit and accept who you are - flaws and all. Like yourself and be pleased with your good intentions and behaviors. Don't wait for the approval or permission of other people.

Get out of God's way - so He can take control and Bless you! Be a Blessing and God will give it back to you in ways you could never imagine. He will bring people, you never thought possible. He will surprise and amaze you with His goodness. The Hymn says, "Great is Thy Faithfulness, Great is Thy Faithfulness, Morning by Morning New Mercies I see; All I have needed, Thy HANDS have provided; Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord unto me". My prayer is that you OPEN UP, so that you may GIVE and RECEIVE, in the Mighty Name of Jesus!
