The Greatest Gift of the Season

Acts 20:35: "It is better to GIVE than to RECEIVE."
My daughter, Kendall, made me proud one day. She saw me mailing my LAST batch of Christmas cards (Hallelujah!) and asked, "Mom, why do you LOVE TO GIVE?" Needless to say, I was a PROUD MOMMA and THANKED GOD that she has seen an EXAMPLE OF A GIVER in me.
You know what? That's what SALVATION is all about. We have seen the GREATEST EXAMPLE OF GIVING IN GOD. As it says in John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, that WHOSOEVER believeth in Him should NOT perish, but have EVERLASTING LIFE.
Let us remember the TRUE reason for the season. GOD GAVE HIS SON, Jesus, to and for us. He sent Him into this world as a babe, wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. But, HE DIDN'T STAY A BABE. He GREW UP, and eventually GAVE HIS LIFE to bring us back into right relationship with our Heavenly Father.
So, what gift do WE have to GIVE BACK TO HIM? We can NEVER repay God for ALL that He has done for us, and He doesn't want us to. The ONLY gift He wants that we CAN give, is to give Him OUR LIVES.
Let's GIVE God the GREATEST GIFT that we can this season...OURSELVES!
Romans 3:23: For we ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
Romans 6:23: For the wages of SIN is DEATH, but the GIFT OF GOD is ETERNAL LIFE, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 10:9-10: That if you CONFESS WITH YOUR MOUTH, Jesus is Lord, and BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART that God raised Him from the dead, YOU WILL BE SAVED. For it is with your HEART that you BELIEVE and ARE JUSTIFIED; and it is with your MOUTH that you CONFESS and ARE SAVED.
